Winter break is upon us. Before we left on our 3 week winter break, the 4th Grade Garden Club sampled their lettuce crop. Various lettuce types had been planted. Students washed and sanitized their hands. They each cut a few lettuce leaves to contribute to the salad. Using our new garden sink (thanks to Mr. Fuchs), we rinsed the lettuce leaves. One student was in charge of spin drying the lettuce. Two more students tore the leaves into bit size pieces. Finally one student mixed together Blood Orange Olive Oil and a White Peach vinegar for a fruity tasting salad dressing. Samples were passed out and enjoyed by the students.
