Students can relate to how hard it must have been for pioneers to ready the fields for planting. We are still clearing out the old soil, weeds, roots, leaves, rocks, etc. to make our plots ready for planting. Fall is upon us and we need to start planting our winter garden. Thank goodness we don't have to depend on what we grow to survive in this day and age. Our garden angel is a 4th grade parent, Ramiro Rios, who is giving us a big hand removing the hard soil and tangled roots.
