Students each plucked a leaf to add to our basket of harvested produce. Each leaf was carefully washed, spun dry, and made into a lettuce wrap with cheese and sliced chicken inside by students.
Students enjoyed a snack made of fresh lettuce leaves right out of our garden. The interesting thing about this garden is that the lettuce grew from discarded soil that was removed from garden plots and placed in a side yard. We practically ignored this area but, with the wonderful rains we have had this winter, the lettuce happily grew. Students each plucked a leaf to add to our basket of harvested produce. Each leaf was carefully washed, spun dry, and made into a lettuce wrap with cheese and sliced chicken inside by students.
