We missed some members today as a couple classrooms were away on a field trip. Those members that were present broke into two groups. One group tackled watering the fruit trees and planters. Another added fresh red bark mulch to one of the planters. We even managed to get some peppers planted in the garden. Thank you members for giving the landscape some TLC!

It is still summer and the weather is still hot and dry. Plants are needing watering and the Garden Club members are on the job. As soon as the weather cools down we can plant our winter garden. We did plant some of Ms. Silvia's plants that she brought. To prepare the plots, we are pulling out weeds, turning over the soil and trimming back old growth.
Students in the 4th grade volunteer in the school garden and around campus. They will help beautify the school by planting flowers, watering, and picking up leaves and debris. They will learn about growing their own food and nutrition. They will observe nature up close. Any 4th grade student can join in at recess (10:15-10:35) on Mondays (Tuesdays if Monday is a holiday and or rained out). We would love to have more adult volunteers to help out students. So come on out and dig in! Hang with some very enthusiastic students and staff (Mrs. Stone, Mrs. Buck) and parents (Ms. Silvia).
