We learn that tending our garden area is important and keeps it looking nice. We spent our 20 minute recess doing that today. We also observed the progress of what we have planted so far. A few of us even planted some more seeds in six packs to transplant later.

The weather is finally cooling down a bit. Enough for us to chance planting winter vegetable such as lettuce, cabbage, broccoli, chard, cauliflower, and more, including a tomato plant which we hope will survive the cold. We learned to plant not to deep and not to high to help ensure our plants survive. Since we have been tending the garden plots removing debris, the plots were reading to receive these plants. We can't wait to see vegetables form and finally to eat them. We are learning to appreciate groceries stores because growing your own food takes time. |
