February flew by. This post is to catch up and summarize what has been happening in the garden. We regularly clean up leaves and debris, pull weeds, sweep, and rake. We often can resist picking a snap pea pod off the vine to snack on. Ms. Silvia has helped us plant some pumpkins in the dirt areas outside of rooms 29, 33, 34. Ms. Stone helped us plant donated tomato seedings. Ms. Lisa has a fun project for us to brighten up the stepping stones by painting them blue with green letters which will spell Vintage Gardens when completed. We attempted to harvest some radishes but they were not ready. We had a February Monday holiday and missed a garden meeting. The first Monday in March was rained out but we finally got some more rain. With the help of Ms. Lisa, peas were harvested in some of the classroom plots and they held a Pea Picnic complete with lemonade. Some flower sweet peas have begun to bloom. Signs of the coming spring can be seen all around.
