Stepping Stone, Mulch, and Where is the rain?

1/25/2016

Our piles of mulch are getting smaller and smaller but there is still a lot more to spread out around the campus.  We hope to get as much spread as we can before the El Nino comes.  The rains will help water in the nutrients from the mulch and turn our landscaping lush and green.  But... we haven't seen much in the way of rain.  There is still time.  Like the saying... April showers brings May flowers.

We did recycle some of the water we captured and students used this water to pour over plants in our garden plot.

Mean time, Ms. Lisa started a project with the help of some 4th Grade Garden Club members.  They are going to paint the stepping stones in our garden path sky blue and add the letters to spell Vintage Magnet (one letter per stone).  We can't wait to see how it looks.

We continue to maintain the garden plots, rake leaves that never seem to stop falling, and help where needed. What an awesome group of hard working 4th graders we have!

Vintage's 4th Grade Garden Club will use a digital camera, computer, and/or an iPad and to photograph and journal what is happening on campus regarding gardening, school beautification, nature and more.
