The garden club started a senses garden - Diifferent plants we can smell, taste, touch, pretty to look at. We planted, sweet plant, mint, apple mint geranium, cilantro, pink rosemary and lemon verbena.
Today we also made more measuring sticks for planting seeds. Drew sticks out of bag to win a mint plant to take home. By Alexa Today in garden club we made seed planting sticks. We made them to measure how deep we have to plant the seeds. We measured 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 inches.
By Alexa and Bridget Today we learned about dividing a garden plot into square feet. We can plant all kinds of vegetables and flowers in our plot squares. We also learned the correct way to plant plants at the level of the ground - too high and they can dry out. Too low can rot the stem. Some of us got to plant lettuce and cool weather tomatoes.
Today the 4th Grade Garden Club helped make the school look nicer. We pulled weed, like crab grass, in the garden outside rooms 33 & 34. -- Bridget
