Along our mural wall and in a couple garden plots we planted plants that butterflies would like. The Milk Weed is very popular with the caterpillars. They munch them down to almost nothing before leaving to make their cocoons. Today as we worked in the garden, we found a few chomping away. Much of the butterfly habitats are covered over by pavement so it makes us feel good to give them a place to feed and reproduce.

Even though we meet only once a week, we all come with a love for gardening and the outdoors. Working together as a team, we get a lot done in those 20 minutes. We pull weeds (lot of them), rake up leaves (lot of them), and even find a minute or two to see what is happening in the gardens around our campus. |
AuthorsVintage's 4th Grade Garden Club will use a digital camera, computer, and/or an iPad and to photograph and journal what is happening on campus regarding gardening, school beautification, nature and more. Archives
