Students got down and dirty digging out the old dirt and tangle of roots that have grown over the years in the garden plots. Not an easy job. Many students found Roly Poly bugs also known as Pill Bugs, Wood Louse, Armadillo Bug, Potato Bugs, but technically known as Armadillidiidae which is a family of woodlice, where belong to a terrestrial crustacean group. A cousin is the Sow Bug which doesn't roll up into a ball. They can harm plants, especially new seedlings but they also help help the worms and other creatures turn decaying material into soil.
